Eclipse

There haven't been many posts in awhile. I understand why. We have been working so hard. Rehearsing, performing... I feel like we've barely left the theater in the last week or so. I walked out, outside, away from the theater, today after the show. I had just finished a plastic cup of 'prop' champagne... Most people were walking by without looking, as usual, in the rush and hubbub of Union Square. I certainly didn't know anything particular was happening around me. Then I noticed... groups of people, or a person alone here, by a doorway, or there with his dog - and they were looking up. All of these random people just looking up as the city marched past them. Some had telescopes or camcorders, or binoculars... Then I looked up too, and I saw it! The moon! This halo of a moon, swathed in a sheen of black. Eclipsing... It glowed from something hidden, deep inside. I think our play is like that, can be like that...

Apparently now,
outside,
the moon is glowing red.
